Villarreal ended the first half, leading by a goal scored by Alexander Sorloth in the 18th minute.
In the second half, Pearson Mosquera scored the second goal in the 69th minute, and Sorloth returned for his second and his team's third goal in the 74th minute.
Villarreal secured its second consecutive victory, taking its tally to 45 points in ninth place.
Valicano froze his balance at 34 points in 15th place.
